well PS3 only have WiFi G standard which is 54mbit half-duplex. so that kind of speed is expected. the workaround I done for that is use my old asus ac66u router, flashed it with tomato firmware, enable wireless ethernet bridge setup using the AC wifi side (not the b/g/n) connect my devices there using the wired connection and whoala.

2 question: atm i have the ps3 set up to the wireless with the router. and it with the 2.4 ghz of cos. BUt when im on it. when im downloading demos or trailers or something like that. im getting like 9mibt in download. and in upload about 8mbit. and why is this happing. ? and i saw the test scan on the ps3 it got channel 6 i dont know if that help. But despite my PS3 with built-in wifi being in the next room, my PS3 couldn't pick up the signal (just everyone else's in the area). My guess is for this to work it has to be in the same room, since it doesn't seem to have much range, but if that were the case you might as well just get an ethernet cord.
